The Hub @ St Swithin’s is how we are living out the ‘GO’ of our vision, seeking to see lives and communities transformed. It includes all the projects that seek to engage with our local community, meeting people where they are at, in various ways.
‘The Hub Cafe’ runs alongside our Hub Projects, providing a relaxed environment for people to meet others, chat, find out a bit more about us and of course have a drink and eat some cake.
Our clothing bank, in partnership with Restore @ Alive church, offers clothes for those in need. Those who are referred can come and choose clothes for themselves and their families, in a relaxed and informal environment. They also have the opportunity to chat to our team over a hot drink and cake from the Hub Cafe.
If you would like to contribute to the clothing bank, we’d be very grateful. You can drop any items off at the clothes donation box in church. We are currently low on:
- Plain Trainers
- New Men’s Underwear
- Women’s Leggings
The Hub Youth Project
This is for young people age school years 6-9 in Lincoln and the surrounding area, it’s an open youth club every other Tuesday in St Swithin’s Church, 6:30-8pm. It’s an open space to play table tennis, pool, craft, tuck shop, Xbox and loads more.
The Hub Kids Project
We invite children and families into the community of St Swithin’s Church through a mixture of holiday clubs, games, activities and events run throughout the year.
A morning group for babies and toddlers (and their parents/carers) in the centre of Lincoln. With generous hospitality at its heart we provide a place for children to have fun and their parents/carers to feel connected and supported.
We partner with ‘Safe Families for Children’ to care for some of the most vulnerable members of our society – children whose parents are going through a hard time. Members of our congregation are signed up as ‘Host families’, ‘Family friends’ and ‘Resource friends’.
Home Match Maker
We partner with ‘Home Match Maker’ who provide homes for the homeless through the local church.
