We love students and we want to help every student in Lincoln find God and make friends. St Swithin’s is a home where students can be supported and built up to become everything God wants them to be. There are opportunities to get involved and to serve on team to get stuck in and really become part of our growing family.
We have something on every day the first two weeks of freshers. For these events click here.
If you would like to know more, find ways of getting connected or just fancy meeting up for a coffee then please email firstname.lastname@example.org or check out the student Facebook group or @stswithinsstudents instagram
Below you can find further details of how to connect in with student life at St Swithin’s!
Come along, make new friends, and find a team to serve on… we have something for everyone!
‘the10:30’ is aimed at all ages and a great opportunity to meet others and get involved with a team.
‘the4’ is a new service and is aimed predominantly at families who can’t make it to a morning service. There are loads of teams to get plugged into and it’s a great way to be part of a new and growing church community.
‘the7’ is our evening service pitched at students and young adults but is open to anyone looking for a more relaxed feel with more space for worship and ministry. It’s a really good place to meet new people and hang out over some food at the end of the service. The doors open at 6.45pm. Food after the service is served in church with space to relax and chat.
Life Groups are smaller groups that meet midweek for food, catching up with one another and working out how to LOVE>LIVE>GO in your everyday. The Autumn 2017 term will see student Life Groups meeting as part of the Alpha course giving the perfect opportunity for students to connect and invite friends along. When the Alpha course has finished, the student Life Groups will multiply and meet at different locations around the city.
You are also welcome to connect in with other Life Groups – check out our Lifegroup page for further info, or visit the Info HUB in church.
As you will soon discover, a lot of our student work involves food! This is because it helps form great community and is an easy way to connect in with others at any point of the year. Student lunches happen throughout the term after ‘the10.30’. Details of upcoming dates are published through social media, or you will find members of the student team approaching students after services to let them know.
We also have food for everyone who attends ‘the7’. Join our Student HUB Facebook group for the student lunch event updates.
We have loads of great events coming up through the year to help you and your mates connect in with St Swithin’s community and to explore life and faith. Our epic events are totally free and are a great opportunity to invite mates for a great evening out.
Our events range from quiz nights, beach parties, Christmas balls and a student weekend away.
Check out the events page on our Facebook group to find out further details.
